Publishing Videos
Attach a video to a post: format and size limits, captions, and what happens after you publish.
Last updated 19 October 2026
You can publish a video on Xacheus as part of a post, from the composer.
How to publish a video post
- Open the composer (the create button in the app).
- Write the text of your post — a clear description helps people find and understand the video.
- Choose attach media and pick your video file.
- Wait for the upload to finish — the progress bar must complete before publishing.
- Add or edit the caption if you want viewers to see text with the video.
- Check the audience settings, then publish.
Formats and limits
For the full details read Supported video formats and limits. Longer, larger productions may need to be trimmed or compressed first — most phones can do this in the gallery app.
- A video attached to a post can be up to 25 MB.
- Common formats are supported, including MP4 and MOV with H.264 or HEVC (H.265) video.
- Videos recorded on modern phones, including iPhones, are usually in a supported format already.
After you publish
Your video plays in the Feed and on your profile. Viewers can react, comment and share it. The player remembers each viewer's position, so people can continue a long video where they left off.
Privacy
A video post follows the same visibility rules as any post — see Understanding post visibility.
If something goes wrong
