Reporting a Scam or Fraud
Report a scam on Xacheus — in a message, a listing or an opportunity — and what to do right after.
Last updated 19 October 2026
If someone tried to scam you — or succeeded — report it. Scam reports are prioritised for review.
First, protect yourself
- Stop contact with the scammer.
- If you paid — contact your bank or mobile money provider immediately and ask what can be reversed.
- If you shared your password — change it now: Resetting your password.
- If you shared documents (ID, statements) — note exactly what you sent; that helps the review.
Then report it on Xacheus
Or open the Support inbox and choose the Report a scam department. Signed out? Use the contact form.
- In a message — use the report action in the conversation.
- On a post or profile — use its report action.
- On a Marketplace listing — report the listing.
- On an opportunity — report the listing: Reporting a suspicious opportunity.
What to include
- The username of the scammer.
- What they promised and what they asked for.
- Whether you paid, how much, and how (bank transfer, mobile money, gift cards).
- Screenshots of the conversation, if you have them.
What happens after
The team reviews the report and can remove content and restrict accounts. Reports are confidential. Xacheus cannot usually recover money — that is why contacting your bank immediately matters — but reporting protects other members from the same person.
