Reporting a Suspicious Opportunity
How to report a listing that looks like a scam or is misleading, and what happens after.
Last updated 19 October 2026
If an opportunity looks fake, misleading or dangerous, report it. Reports are confidential — the publisher is never told who reported them.
What counts as suspicious
- Asking for money to apply — application fees, "processing" fees, deposits. Legitimate opportunities do not charge you to apply.
- Too good to be true — huge pay for little work, guaranteed scholarships nobody has heard of.
- Urgency pressure — "pay today or lose your place".
- Requests for personal documents up front — copies of your ID, bank details or passwords before any real process.
- No verifiable source — the listing cannot be traced to a real organisation.
How to report
You can also report from the Support inbox with the Report a scam department, which is prioritised for review, or use the contact form if you cannot sign in.
- Open the suspicious opportunity.
- Use its report action.
- Choose the reason that fits (scam or fraud, fake listing, misleading information).
- Add anything you noticed — what made it look wrong helps the review.
- Submit.
What happens after
The Xacheus team reviews the report and can remove the listing and restrict the publisher. Outcomes depend on the review — Xacheus does not promise a specific action or a fixed response time, but scam reports are prioritised.
Protect yourself in the meantime
- Stop all contact with the publisher.
- Do not send money, documents or codes.
- If you already paid or shared data, tell your bank or mobile money provider immediately, then report it here too: Reporting a scam or fraud.
