Creating a Circle
Create and configure a Circle for your community, network or project — name, privacy, logo and roles.
Last updated 19 October 2026
A Circle is a community on Xacheus: a group of members who post, chat and organise around a shared interest, business, place or cause.
Before you begin
- Make sure you are signed in.
- Have a clear idea of what the Circle is for — the name and description should say it in one line.
Step 1 — Open Circles
Open the Circles section from the main navigation, or go straight to xacheus.com/circles/create.
Step 2 — Start creating
Choose Create a Circle.
Step 3 — Add your Circle's information
Fill in the name, description and category. The description is what members read before joining, so say what happens in the Circle and who it is for.
Step 4 — Customise the look
Add a profile image and cover image so the Circle is recognisable in listings — see Uploading a community logo.
Step 5 — Choose privacy
Decide whether the Circle is public (anyone can join directly) or private (people must request to join and be approved). You can read the trade-offs in Managing community privacy. Private Circles check access for every member, so private really is private.
Step 6 — Create
Submit the form and wait for the confirmation. You are now the Circle's owner, with the admin role from the start.
After you create it
- Invite people — share the Circle or tell your community where to find it.
- Set house rules — write the rules members agree to; see Understanding community roles for what admins and moderators can do.
- Organise events — see Organizing community events.
What if I cannot create a Circle?
Check that you are signed in, that the form shows no error message, and that you have not just created several Circles in a short time. If the problem continues, contact Xacheus Support.
