Uploading a Profile Picture
Change the photo other members see on your profile, with size and format tips.
Last updated 19 October 2026
Your profile picture is the small photo members see next to your name on posts, comments and messages.
How to change it
The new picture appears on your profile and next to your name everywhere on Xacheus, usually immediately.
- Sign in and open your profile.
- Choose Edit profile.
- Select the picture slot (or the camera icon on it).
- Pick a photo from your device.
- Adjust it if the app offers cropping, then save.
Tips for a good picture
- A clear, recent photo of your face helps people recognise and trust you — important if you later apply for verification.
- Square photos fit best; the picture is shown as a circle.
- Keep the file under 25 MB (photos from any modern phone are far below this).
Common problems
The upload fails — check your connection and the file size, then try again. See Troubleshooting image uploads. The old picture is still showing — pull to refresh or reopen the app; cached images can take a moment to update. Wrong picture appears — make sure you saved after choosing, and that you edited your own profile rather than viewing someone else's.
Rules for profile pictures
Your picture follows the Community Guidelines. Impersonating another person with their photo can be reported as impersonation.
