Blocking or Reporting a User
Stop someone from reaching you (block) and put their behaviour in front of the team (report).

Blocking and reporting do different things. You can do either, or both.
Blocking
Blocking stops someone from contacting you. Use it for anyone you do not want to hear from — you do not need a reason and they are not told.
Blocking is quiet and immediate. See Blocking another user for what a block does and does not cover.
- Open the person's profile (or the conversation).
- Use the block action.
- Confirm.
Reporting
Reporting puts the person's behaviour in front of the Xacheus moderation team. Use it for spam, harassment, scams, impersonation or anything that breaks the Community Guidelines.
Reports are confidential — the person is never told who reported them.
- Use the report action on the person's profile, message or post.
- Choose the reason that fits.
- Add anything that helps the review, and submit.
Which one when?
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Annoying but harmless | Block |
| Harassment, threats, hate | Report, then block |
| Scam or fraud attempt | Report — see Reporting a scam or fraud |
| Someone pretending to be you or a public figure | Report — see Reporting impersonation |
If you are in danger
If anything on Xacheus connects to a real-world risk to your safety, contact the police first, then report it here: Reporting a safety concern.
