It connects people looking for guidance with mentors who have real experience in the sector. The programme describes itself as unique because it focuses on one-to-one pairings rather than broad networking or generic advice. The organisation is run by a small group of volunteers, all of whom have worked in the food industry themselves. They are motivated by a shared goal: to drive change and make a difference by helping others progress in their careers. The Origins of Flourish in Food Flourish in Food began in 2020 as a lockdown project for its Founder, Cameron. At that time, the aim was to support students who wanted to progress in the food industry by linking them with specialist mentors. During a period of great uncertainty, the project gave students a way to get advice and direction from people already working in the field. How the Programme Has Grown The programme has since opened its services beyond students to anyone in the industry looking for personal growth and development. Key points about its growth: It started as a student-focused initiative in 2020. It is now open to anyone in the food industry seeking personal growth and development. It has created over 250 food industry pairings. That track record shows sustained demand for mentoring in the sector, and that many people have already benefited.
